Instant Pot Dal Tadka



Enjoy very tasty Instant Pot yellow dal tempered with cumin, curry leaves and spices(Dal tadka).

Ingredients

1 tbsp cooking Oil
1 tsp Cumin seeds + 1tsp mustard seeds
Few Curry Leaves
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
Garlic - 1tsp
1/2 Onion finely chopped
1 Tomato finely chopped
1 cup Split Pigeon Pea (Toor dal) and with 1tbsp Masoor dal(washed and keep it aside for 10 min)
3 cup Water
Cilantro to garnish

Spices
1/4 tsp Ground Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Red Chili powder
Salt as per taste


Instructions


  1. Start the instant pot and set it to Saute mode. Now start by giving tadka with cumin seeds,curry leaves, garlic and asafoetida.

  2. After first step add the chopped onions and cook until the onions turn golden brown.
  3. Now add tomato and spices and cook for another couples os minutes.



  4. Add the washed dal and water. Stir it.
  5. Now cancel the saute mode and change it to pressure cook mode at high pressure for 20 mins. After the instant pot beeps, let the pressure release.
  6. Garnish with cilantro and stir. Dal tadka is ready to be served.
